Sight Seeing - Tarika's Jungal Park Resort Corbett - A Family Paradise, Uttarakhand

Garjia Temple(6 Kms)
6 kms. Away from the resort ,on the way to Ranikhet, is a huge rock in the midst of river Kosi. This place has been named Garjia Devi after the deity. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees from different parts of the state. A large fair is held here on Kartik Poornima.
 
Bijrani (6 Kms)
The area in and around Bijrani once formed part of a shooting block. During the British period it was much famed for the quality of game hunting that it offered to shikaris.
 
Jhirna (24 Kms)
This rest house lies just inside the southern boundary of the Park. The rest house lies on the road from Ramnagar to Kalagarh that runs in an east-west direction through the Park. Jhirna was a farming village until 1994 when it was successfully relocated under Project Tiger. The abandoned farmland is gradually reverting to a wild state and is being managed to develop grassland habitat. The nearby terrain consists of numerous sots and narrow gorges running through typically Shiwalik landscape. The hills to the north of Jhirna are covered with dense patches of bamboo. Apart from being a good habitat for tiger, leopard and deer, the place hosts other interesting mammals like sloth bear and wild boar. A variety of birds can also be enjoyed here.
 
Corbett Wildlife Museum (13 Kms)
Corbett Museum at Dhangarhi where you will see the belonging and life history of Mr. Jim Corbett still intact at the museum with some of the animals at Corbett National Park.
 
Corbett Water Falls (27 Kms)
The Corbett Waterfalls, a small nonetheless an awesome view, is from a height of about 60 feet and is in the backdrop of scenic greenish forest. Full Moon light colored waterfall is really worth-while to observe. The wide area around the water fall provides very good parking and camping facilities. It is a very nice picnic spot. A nearby attraction is ‘Nature Walk' museum, where one can experience the pure nature in its primitive style and calm.
 
Jim Corbett House (32 Kms)
Corbett's home at Kaladungi, around 32 Kms from Resort on Nainital Road, is now a museum which houses memorabilia of the legendry hunter. Its a rusty old world building which is well kept, is very clean, lawns and flora is well preserved and has that laid-back leisure charm in it. There are plaques, life size oil paintings, lots of text about Jim and his family, some of his furniture etc.
 
Sitabani Reserve Forest (12 Kms)
Sitabani, at half an hour drive from the resort, is a virgin jungle where legend has it that Sita spent her days of exile after the agni pariksha. It is a birdwatchers' paradise and there is an ashram tucked away in the virgin forest area. Elephant, Panthers and other wildlife move to Sitabani when the tourist season is on in Corbett. The gate remains open around the year.
 
Sunrise Point (45 Kms)

Situated 45 Kms away from our Resort, a highest peak in Corbett and its surrounding area at Bhuwankhal Village ( Kath ki Nao). It's also famous an oldest bungalow built by British. One can see both the rivers Kosi and Ramganga from the peak at a glance.
